AWESOME Leaders will be coming together virtually on Thursday, June 11, from 3:00 to 5:30 pm Central, for what’s being called a “mini-Symposium” via Zoom. The signature in-person annual Symposium originally scheduled for June has been rescheduled for October 12-13 because of COVID-19 circumstances and limitations.
“After the past several months, with supply chain leaders responding to the challenges of the pandemic, we are now creating this opportunity to get together virtually, share what we’ve learned and look toward the future,” explained Heather Sheehan, AWESOME Executive Director. “With input from our Host Partner McDonald’s, we’ll share timely information about leading through crisis and transforming for a new future.
The June 11 program will include:
Mobilizing in the Face of Adversity/Supply Chains on the Front Lines: A discussion with leaders whose organizations have played key roles and made major adaptations to keep the supply chain moving. Panelists include Allison Corry, AVP of Procurement for Intermountain Healthcare; Michelle Dilley, COO of DSC Logistics, now CJ Logistics America, whose customers include Fortune 500 companies in personal care products, healthcare supplies and devices; and Debbie Lentz, President, Global Supply Chain, Electrocomponents. Their discussion will be moderated by Heather Sheehan, AWESOME Executive Director.
Decision-Making During Crisis: A dialogue with Dr. Victoria Medvec, Global Leader in negotiation and decision-making; Professor of Management and Organizations at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and AWESOME Advisor Francesca DeBiase, Chief Supply Chain and Sustainability Officer, McDonald’s, with insights about assessing risk and moving forward with critical decisions in difficult times.
Mastering the Moment: Francesca will continue the conversation with Ann Drake, Founder and Chairman of AWESOME. The two inspirational women will focus on how leaders take the strategic importance of the supply chain to the next level while rising to the need and the opportunity to help create the future.
Heather Sheehan explained, “AWESOME already was exploring ways to create more touch-points with members of our community – more ways to connect and share learnings. This virtual event is just the beginning of many online programs and interactions we’ll be providing for women leaders in supply chain as we continue to advance and transform the future of supply chain leadership.”
