This week, our Transformative Leadership Panel brought together a phenomenal group of supply chain leaders who offered candid, thought-provoking insights on the timely topic of global tariffs—and what they mean for leaders, Americans, and the global economy. We also saw amazing engagement from the audience, who posed thoughtful, challenging questions throughout the conversation.
Highlights from the conversation:
- “I strongly believe Americans can do anything—right? I do. I think anyone, anywhere, can be trained to do anything. I genuinely believe we are a nation of incredibly hardworking, talented, intelligent people. So yes—can people do it? Totally. A hundred percent.”
- “There’s so much uncertainty right now. A little instability, and honestly, some unsustainable actions happening for supply chain leaders. I work with healthcare supply chain teams, and the pace of change—how quickly things are shifting—has left a lot of leaders asking: Where will this land? How do we plan? What should we be budgeting for? It’s impacting every industry. It’s reminiscent of those early weeks of COVID—how to respond, how to react. And we have to be thoughtful. So we’re leading with, ‘There’s a lot of uncertainty—so what can we manage?’”
- “What I’ve seen is a real acceleration of productivity efforts. If companies had already started initiatives around boosting productivity, they’re now doubling down. They’re also pushing forward with cost reduction initiatives—things that impact cost internally while still maintaining service levels. For many in retail, this is where the focus is right now, before making bigger decisions that impact capital. The goal is to stay nimble while keeping service manageable.”
