AWESOME announces panelists for “Global Volatility and Risk” session

The mega session powered by AWESOME at the 2018 CSCMP EDGE Conference Sept. 30 – Oct. 3 in Nashville, Tennessee, will feature leading women in the industry discussing “Global Volatility & Risk: The Imperative for Supply Chain Agility.”

The panelists are Sylvia Fouhy, VP Customer Experience, Johnson & Johnson; Kara Mahoney, VP Account Management, Expeditors ; and Amy Michtich, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Molson Coors Canada. Jennifer Diaz, Founder, Diaz Trade Law, P.A., Board Certified in International Law, will begin the session by speaking about trends and events that are sources of risk and volatility and then moderate the discussion.

According to Dun & Bradstreet’s CIPS Risk Index, global supply chain risk continues to hover near its all-time high reached in Q4 2016. Changing regulations, shifts in international policy, and a growing wave of nationalism continue to reshape global markets and supply chain strategies. The expert panel of AWESOME experts and leaders will identify major sources of risk and volatility and implications for supply chains, offer potential strategies for building agility into the supply chain, and discuss approaches for supply chain leaders to assess and mitigate risk.

Discussion moderator Jennifer Diaz is the Founder, Diaz Trade Law, P.A., Board Certified in International Law, a law firm specializing in Customs and International trade law. Jennifer is a Board Certified International Attorney and professional speaker considered an expert in international law by the Florida Bar. She is results oriented and regularly assists clients with issues relating to the import and export of merchandise to and from the United States and expediting supply chains with robust pre-compliance programs. Ms. Diaz is an expert in working with the many Federal agencies that regulate trade, including the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Ms. Diaz is the editor of the prominent Customs and International Trade Law Blog, and author of the Top 10 Tips When Importing/Exporting.

Sylvia Fouhy is Vice President of Customer Experience – North America for Customer & Logistics Services, a division of Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain, where she is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of all Johnson & Johnson products and services in North America, totaling $35Bn in sales. Her responsibilities include transportation, warehousing, logistics, import/export, customer service, and customer solutions for all three Johnson & Johnson sectors — Consumer, Medical Devices, and Pharmaceuticals.

Kara Mahoney is Vice President, Account Management for Expeditors International, the Seattle-based global logistics firm specializing in international trade through customized solutions and seamless, integrated information systems. Kara is a 20-year supply chain and forwarding industry veteran. She has served in several areas of the supply chain ranging from direct customer innovation to solution management in the logistics space. In her current role, Kara is responsible for a team of 500 people who engage the front lines of customer demand and supply chain solution creation. Her oversight includes the development of tools, resources and programs that aid the Expeditors team and their direct customers on navigating the changing demands of global trade and supply chain execution.

Amy Michtich currently serves as the Chief Supply Chain Officer of Molson Coors Canada, where she oversees end-to-end operations for Canada’s largest and North America’s oldest brewer of quality beers and ciders. From 2007 to 2015, she was employed by MillerCoors, a joint venture formed in the U.S. by SABMiller and Molson Coors, where she served as Vice President – Brewery Operations in Virginia and Brewery Operations Manager in Wisconsin. Prior to 2007, Ms. Michtich held executive and operations leadership positions across various consumer packaged goods companies including Pepsi Bottling Group, Clorox and Lipton.
