Heather Sheehan recognized as 2017 Thinker and Mover

Heather Sheehan, AWESOME’s Director of Member Engagement and Sponsorships, is one of two supply chain leaders to receive the 2017 Thinkers & Movers Award recognizing individuals whose innovative leadership has impacted supply chain thinking and practices. Her co-recipient is Brian Hancock, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, Kansas City Southern (KCS).

The industry-wide Thinkers & Movers Award was established by DSC Logistics in 2009 and has been presented to 15 outstanding practitioners and educators since then. Nancy Nix, AWESOME Executive Director, received the award in 2009; Debbie Lentz, former supply chain executive at Toys”R”Us and Kraft and an AWESOME Advisor, was a recipient in 2013; and Kathy Wengel, Worldwide Vice President, Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC) and an AWESOME Advisor, was honored in 2015.

Prior to joining the AWESOME leadership team, Heather was Chief Procurement Officer, Danaher Corporation, and she now heads up her own consulting practice, Crispy Concepts, LLC. At Danaher, Heather held worldwide responsibility for non-production and logistics sourcing, strategy and implementation across Danaher Corporation’s 40-plus operating companies. She was involved with operations in 125 countries and led successful supply chain changes as Danaher grew from $3 billion to over $20 billion in revenues.

Before his current role at Kansas City Southern, Brian Hancock served as the Chief Supply Chain Officer of Dollar Tree, Inc., President of North American division for The Martin Brower Company, LLC, Vice President of Global Supply Chain for Whirlpool, Inc., and Vice President and General Manager at Schneider Logistics Inc. He is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and currently serves on the Marriott School Global Supply Chain Advisory Board at Brigham Young University.

The 2017 award was presented by Ann Drake, CEO of DSC Logistics and founder of AWESOME, at the annual DSC Logistics Partner Summit. This year’s Summit theme was “Whole-Brain Supply Chain Thinking.” The Summit serves as a forum for participants to network with peers, gain new perspectives and exchange ideas in the spirit of advancing collaboration, transformation and leadership in supply chain management.
